December 2015 – Seek Perfection of Character

At the beginning of every class we recite the Dojo Kun. For the rest of this month we will be working on “We Karate-ka shall seek perfection of character.” Master Funakoshi wrote “The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of the participant.”


State Games of America Participant Record Broken! Deadline extended.

More Than 13,000 Competitors Registered, Deadline Extended through July 15th. The 2015 State Games of America (SGA) in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska is officially the largest SGA event since the inception of the Games in 1999. More than 13,000 athletes from 47 different states, plus Washington DC, are currently registered! With 27 days to the Opening Ceremonies, SGA 2015 has already surpassed the State Games of America participant record of 10,803, which was achieved by Colorado in 2011. 2014 Tri-City/Tri-Dojo Goju Ryu Seminar Friday 9/5/14 Sho REI Shobu Kan in Council Bluffs from 6:30-9:30- pm Saturday 9/6/14 @ Heartland Family Karate from 9:00-Noon and 1:00-4:00 Sunday 9/7/14 Lincoln Martial Arts Center from 9:00-Noon.
