Gōjū-ryū (剛柔流?)
Our Style
Gōjū-ryū (剛柔流?) is a traditional Okinawan style that incorporates both circular and linear movements into its curriculum. It combines hard striking attacks such as kicks and close hand punches with softer open hand circular techniques for attacking, blocking, and controlling the opponent. It includes locks, grappling, takedowns and throws and was founded by the Okinawan Karate Master, Chōjun Miyagi.

Below is a summary from the convention organizers:
This is a reminder that our 2026 SRSBK National Karate Convention June 25 to 28…. We are hoping that all of our SRSBK members will take advantage of this opportunity to train for an entire weekend with members from all of our SRSBK organization dojos…. on-line registration is available through the LMAC website….
Training will begin Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will focus on testing requirements. Testing candidates should plan to attend but everyone is welcome to take advantage of the additional opportunity to train. Friday and Saturday will be full days of training from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dan rank testing will be Saturday afternoon for those who have been nominated. Again, everyone should plan to participate in testing as it is another opportunity to train and review curriculum material. Lunch will be on your own on both Friday and Saturday. As in the past, a group dinner will be held Saturday evening. Sunday morning training and presentations will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Once again, we are offering the option for junior students to train Saturday only for a nominal fee. Hopefully, this will encourage some of our junior students (15 years of age and below) to participate in the convention and become acquainted with students and instructors outside their own dojo without having to attend the entire event.
Registration for the convention can be completed on-line or by mail.
